Kate Winslet has been invited back to Sir Richard Branson's Necker Island just months after she saved his grandmother from a blazing inferno on the landmass.

The Virgin tycoon has asked the 'Titanic' star and her boyfriend Ned RocknRoll - who is Richard's nephew - if they would like to spend Christmas and New Year on his £60 million private island, where they met in the summer when a fire broke out at the Great House she was staying in after it was struck by lightning.
Kate Winslet has described her escape from Sir Richard Branson's island as a "dramatic chapter in a movie".

The Oscar-winning actress - who was holidaying on the private Caribbean island of Necker with her boyfriend Louis Dowler and children Mia, 10, and seven-year-old Sam when the blazing inferno struck last week - insisted the party have the tycoon's daughter Holly, 29, to thank for her "totally unflappable and utterly practical" attitude.

Mogul Richard Branson had his home on a private island in the Caribbean burn to the ground this morning, and his 90-year-old mother might have died in the blaze ... if not for the help of Kate Winslet.

Branson recanted the harrowing tale on his blog this morning, saying that 20 people were inside the home at the time of the fire ... but they all managed to get out fine. He said the main house -- on Necker Island -- was completely destroyed.

Branson cited a tropical storm as the cause, saying a lightning storm hit the house around 4:00 AM.

As for the dramatic rescue of his elderly mother, Branson wrote, "... many thanks to Kate Winslet for helping to carry my 90 year mum out of the main house to safety wondering when a Director was going to shout CUT!"

Wonder who'll play Kate when Branson sells the movie rights?
