Randy Savage Died Of Bad Heart
Randy Savage died because of a bad heart, not his car crash.The wrestling star was suffering an enlarged heart and authorities believe he had a cardiac episode while behind the wheel, causing him to lose control and leading to his fatal accident in Tampa, Florida, last month.
Macho Man -- Bad Heart Killed Him
Filed under: Macho Man Randy Savage, TMZ Sports Macho Man Randy Savage died from a serious "cardiac event" he suffered moments before plowing his car into a tree last month -- this according to the Pinellas County Medical Examiner.According to the medical examiner, Savage suffered from cardiovascular disease -- and the deadly "cardiac event" resulted from the condition.
According to the toxicology report, Savage tested positive for alcohol and hydrocodone (an opiate) during the time of his death ... but neither played a role in his death.
As we previously reported, the wrestler's brother said Savage experienced a heart attack before the accident -- and that's what caused him to lose control of his vehicle on a Florida highway and slam into a tree.

Randy Savage Laid To Rest
Wrestling superstar Macho Man Randy Savage was laid to rest yesterday (25.05.11).The WWE and WCW star - best known for his neon sunglasses, wildly styled cowboy hats and bright sequined jackets - died after suffering a heart attack while behind the wheel of his car in Tampa, Florida last week.
Macho Man -- Gun Recovered At Crash Scene

TMZ spoke with Randy's brother, Lanny Poffo, who tells us the gun was properly registered and legit.
Lanny says Randy had recently gotten into the hobby of target shooting -- and was a pretty damn good shot.
Lanny says Randy and his wife were so passionate about the hobby -- he wasn't surprised about the discovery of the gun because the couple went shooting together all the time.

Macho's Last Request -- Don't Play My Theme Music!
Filed under: Macho Man Randy Savage, TMZ Sports "Macho Man" Randy Savage's ashes were spread at the base of a tree at his Florida home yesterday ... and in compliance with his final request, the family REFUSED to play his wrestling theme music during the ceremony. TMZ spoke to Randy's brother Lanny Poffo who tells us Savage made it very clear in his funeral plans ... NO ONE was to play his theme music, Pomp and Circumstance, while he was laid to rest.
We're told ... in recent years, Randy felt extremely guilty about using the song, because it was first used by his idol, wrestling legend Gorgeous George ... and Randy felt like he stole George's thunder.
Poffo tells us Randy's closest friends and family members will meet again in Florida tomorrow to continue to mourn and honor Savage's memory.

Ultimate Warrior: Macho Man Was A Coffee Freak!!!

GALLONS OF COFFEE!Warrior -- who famously forced Savage into "retirement" by defeating him at a "Career Ending Match" at Wrestlemania XII -- said he and Randy used to get so jacked up on java before getting into the ring, they would often compete to see who could down more Joe.
In fact, Warrior says, one time they sucked down 5 GALLONS of the black stuff before an event.
During the emotional video, Warrior said Savage "inspired a generation" ... adding, "I was so fortunate to be in so many great events with him."
He concluded, "Thanks for the memories Randy, thanks for the memories."

Macho Man Randy Savage -- The 911 Calls
Filed under: Macho Man Randy Savage, R.I.P., TMZ Sports, 911 Call TMZ has obtained the 911 calls made after Randy "Macho Man" Savage's car crash in Florida last week -- in which one caller says she watched the wrestler hit a tree "real hard."As TMZ first reported, Savage died soon after the crash.
Randy's brother tells us the wrestler suffered a heart attack behind the wheel and lost control of the vehicle.
Officials performed an autopsy to find an official cause of death -- results could take 4 to 6 weeks.

Macho Man To Be With Beloved Dog For Eternity
Filed under: Macho Man Randy Savage, R.I.P., TMZ Sports Randy "Macho Man" Savage will be cremated and his ashes co-mingled with the ashes of his loyal pooch, Hercules.Savage's brother, Lanny Poffo, tells TMZ ... the dog's ashes were spread around Randy's favorite tree several years ago, and after Randy is cremated his ashes will be strewn there as well.
Lanny tells us Randy would always say, "If it's good enough for Herc, it's good enough for me!"
And ... although the Macho Man was one of the most beloved wrestlers of all time, there won't be a public memorial, because he didn't want one. The service will be small -- for family only.

Macho Man's Autopsy -- Cause Of Death Not Known
Filed under: Macho Man Randy Savage, R.I.P., TMZ Sports The autopsy of wrestling legend Randy "Macho Man" Savage did not yield an exact cause of death ... sources tell TMZ. Sources tell us the autopsy was completed yesterday and the cause of death is still "pending." We're told the ME did not notice any "extensive trauma" to his body.
According to our sources, it might take anywhere from 4-6 weeks for toxicology results to be completed.
As TMZ first reported, Savage (real name Randy Poffo) died in a car accident on Friday when his car veered across a concrete median, through oncoming traffic, and "collided head-on with a tree."
Macho Man's brother told us he suffered a heart attack, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle.

Hulk Hogan -- We Had Finally Started To Talk Again ...

Hulk just went to his Twitter page and wrote, "I'm completely devastated, after over 10 years of not talking with Randy, we've finally started to talk and communicate."
He added, "He had so much life in his eyes & in his spirit, I just pray that he's happy and in a better place and we miss him."
"We miss him a lot. I feel horrible about the ten years of having no communication. This was a tough one."

Macho Man's Car Accident -- The Wreckage Video
Filed under: Macho Man Randy Savage, TMZ Sports TMZ has obtained footage of Macho Man Randy Savage's car -- after it slammed into a tree this morning in Florida.As we previously reported, Macho Man suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 AM ... and lost control of his car -- veering across the concrete median into oncoming traffic ... and straight into a tree.
Randy died, but it's unclear whether it was the result of the heart attack, the collision, or a combination of both.

Wwe -- Randy Savage Will Be 'greatly Missed'

"Poffo was under contract with WWE from 1985 to 1993 and held both the WWE and Intercontinental Championships."
"Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends. We wish a speedy recovery to his wife Lynn. Poffo will be greatly missed by WWE and his fans."

Officials tell TMZ ... later today, Randy's remains will be transported to the Pinellas County Medical Examiner's Office ... where doctors are scheduled to perform an autopsy on Savage sometime tomorrow.
Savage died after a head-on collision with a tree in Florida this morning ... and the wrestler's brother tells us it all happened after Randy suffered a heart attack behind the wheel.

Macho Man Randy Savage Dies In Car Accident

TMZ spoke with Randy's brother, Lanny Poffo, who tells us the wrestling legend suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 AM ... and lost control of his vehicle.
Earlier this month, Savage celebrated his 1-year anniversary with his new wife Lynn.
Savage was 58.
Macho Man began wrestling in the WWF in 1985 and became a superstar with his trademark catchphrase "Ooooooh Yeaahhhhh." Savage was so popular, he became the spokesperson for Slim Jim in the mid '90s ... and became virtually synonymous with the brand.
UPDATE: Florida Highway Patrol tells TMZ ... Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median ... through oncoming traffic ... and "collided head-on with a tree."
Savage was transported to Largo Medical center, where he died from his injuries.
Savage's wife was a passenger in the vehicle during the collision -- but survived with "minor injuries." She was transported to a different local hospital where she was treated.
According to officials, Randy and Lynn were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Cops say alcohol was NOT a factor.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
