A working actor since he was just a child, Peter Billingsley has achieved success and accolades both behind the cameras as well as in front of them. The highly successful child actor turned producer recently received an Emmy Award nomination as co-executive producer on the critically acclaimed show Dinner for Five with Jon Favreau, now in its fourth season.

Billingsley is currently serving as executive producer on Universal Picture's romantic comedy The Break-Up. The film stars Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston in an unconventional love story that begins where most romantic comedies end.

He recently completed work as co-producer on Columbia Picture's Zathura: A Space Adventure, based on the children's book written by Chris Van Allsburg. He was also co-producer on the Artisan Entertainment classic Made starring Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn. His other television producing credits include Comedy Central's Trigger Happy TV and FX's The X Show.

Growing up in the public eye, Billingsley began his acting career at the age of three in some of the 1970s most memorable television commercials. After appearing in numerous television shows and films during his youth, the Emmy-nominated actor delivered a performance for the ages in the beloved holiday film, A Christmas Story. Playing humourist Jean Shepherd's youthful alter-ego "Ralphie", Billingsley's repeated requests in the film for a genuine Red Ryder B-B gun quickly catapulted the actor to instant stardom and has since driven the film into pop culture lure as the classic modern day Christmas tale.

Born in New York City, Billingsley currently (2005) resides in Los Angeles.


Great-grandnephew of Stork Club impresario Sherman Billingsley (his maternal great-grandfather was Fred Billingsley who was Sherman's brother). Became best friends with Vince Vaughn after they shared the screen in an "After School Special". His second most famous role as a child actor (next to Ralphie in A Christmas Story) was probably that of "Messy Marvin" in the Hershey's Chocolate Syrup commercials. Back in the 80s he was the national spokesman for President Ronald Reagan's Young Astronaut Council, which was an educational program aimed at kids.
