Once held a job as a painter on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Co-developed and acted in "The Paul Hogan Show" on Australian TV in the 1970's.


Listed as one of twelve "Promising New Actors of 1986" in John Willis' Screen World, Vol. 38. He was awarded the A.M. (Member of the Order of Australia) on January 26, 1989 for his services to Tourism and Entertainment. Divorced first wife, Noelene, after 28-years of marriage (their eldest son was thirty-one at the time). Has a son named Chance with co-star turned wife, Linda. Was given a Subaru Outback by the car company for his appearances in their car commercials. Father of Brett Hogan.
