Son of Actress Shirley Jones and actor Jack Cassidy Brother of Shaun Cassidy and Ryan Cassidy, and half brother of actor David Cassidy Patrick had focused on football and possibly college as the star quarterback for Beverly Hills High School in 1979. However, when he broke his collarbone early in the season of his senior year, he looked into the drama department and started his career. Played the role of "Frederic" in the 1981 Joseph Papp production of "The Pirates of Penzance" longer than any other actor. Mother Shirley Jones was pregnant with him while filming The Music Man.
