At the age of five Lukas was discovered in his kindergarten by casting director Marjorie Simkin. His first film role was that of the youngest of the doomed children in Testament (1983). By 1985, he gained notice when he starred as Samuel, the little Amish boy who witnesses a murder in Witness. He was nominated for an Emmy in the Television Movie The Ryan White Story (1989). By his teenage years, he appeared with Jessica Lange in the Music Box, and Steve Martin in Leap of Faith. On Broadway, Lukas starred with Steve Martin and Robin Williams in "Waiting for Godot".
Son of Emily Tracy. Drummer and pianist for a band called the Rogues Dated Natalie Portman. [July 2001] Brothers are fraternal twins named Simon and Nikolai Haas. Like Lukas, they are also musicians. Lukas enjoyed ice skating (hockey) and turned up on occasion at the ice rink at Northcross Mall in Austin (1986-1988). He was a good skater, by the way, and the employees were quite fond of him. Eleven years after playing the title role in Witness, opposite Harrison Ford, he appeared in Mars Attacks!. At the end of the film, he receives a medal, just as Ford did in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. Ford received the medal from Carrie Fisher, playing Princess Leia. Haas received his from Natalie Portman, who would go on to play Princess Leia's mother, Queen Amidala.
