Father of Daniel Charles Louis de Funès de Galarza (b. 12 July 1937), Patrick Charles de Funès de Galarza (b. 27 January 1944) and actor Olivier De Funès.

He was the French dubbing voice of actors Totò and Renato Rascel.

He was owner of the Chateau de Clermont near to Nantes, in Loire-Atlantique, France.

Was portrayed as a gambler in the Lucky Luke comic book "The One-Armed Bandit".
