Lou Diamond Phillips newsLou Diamond Phillips Crowned King Of The Jungle
On Wednesday night's finale of NBC's "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here," actor Lou Diamond Phillips was named winner. Lou bested wrestler Torrie Wilson and former basketball pro John Salley in the finale, taking the crown for his preferred charity, the Art Has Heart Foundation. The non-profit provides college scholarships to low and moderate income high school students who have been negatively affected by geography, family circumstances or other challenges. Heidi told the show's hosts that she feels better after being evacuated from the Costa Rican camp due to an ulcer. "The doctor says that I'll be ok if I stay out of the jungle," she said cheerfully.[Read full story on The Insider]
Holly Montag Joins 'celebrity'
Wednesday night's episode of "I'm a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here," featured a new cast member who fit right in, while another camper found herself at the center of camp controversy. Holly Montag, the older sister of Heidi Pratt, joined the cast, saying, "I'm Holly Montag, you might know me from a little show called 'The Hills.'" Though her castmates were nervous at first, with Sanjaya Malakar expressing that he hoped she wouldn't add "drama" to the camp like her sister and brother-in-law Heidi and Spencer Pratt did, Holly seemed to fit right in with her cheerfulness and agreeable attitude, and even led the women's team to a victory in the first food challenge. One person who loved Holly right off the bat was Janice Dickinson, who asked Holly if her sister Heidi had changed since she met her husband Spencer. Holly responded that her sister had always been the same way: "She just latches on to somebody and they become her everything ... her world," Holly told Janice. Though Holly and Janice seemed to be fast friends at first, Janice was in hot water of her own with her fellow campers. After she was filmed appearing to squat right next to her camp cot one night, a notice appeared the next morning that read: "Dear celebrities, just to remind you that you must not urinate in camp. This will attract rats, which in turn attract snakes." Since Janice was perceived to be eating more than one helping of the camp's meager food supply at meal times, and was also accused of not doing her fair share of camp chores, leader Lou Diamond Phillips took her aside and tried to gently explain that she was rubbing people the wrong way. She reacted by vowing to go on a hunger strike. Later in the episode, Torrie Wilson and Patti Blagojevich won the second challenge for the women, and the prize included four granola bars -- one for each woman. Janice was filmed surreptitiously sneaking a granola bar, eating it quickly, then going back to camp. Next, when Patti went to get the granola bars to hand them out, she realized one was missing, but Janice didn't fess up to eating it, going as far as to take a second granola bar, therefore eating half of the granola bars herself. To find out who will be eliminated next, tune in to "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here" on Thursday night on NBC.[Read full story on The Insider]
Speidi Officially Out Of 'celebrity'
Spencer and Heidi Pratt are officially done with the TV show, "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here" after Monday night's episode showed Heidi being taken to a hospital after suffering a stomach ailment in Costa Rica. The episode opened with the pair spending the evening praying fervently in the "Lost Chamber," a shack-like shelter which boasted several spiders on the ceiling. When the two returned to camp after their castmates decided to let them back on the show after they quit last week, they told their castmates that they'd changed, and proclaimed their Christianity. Heidi said of the experience in the "Lost Chamber": "The only way we got through it was praying, and Jesus delivered us." Back at camp, the pair reconciled with their castmates, and Heidi sang a song off her upcoming album for the group. Janice Dickinson responded with what she called "constructive criticism," saying, "You know what that sounded like? A cat that someone put water on ... a drowning cat. ... I used to live in New York City, Heidi -- if someone was singing like that, someone would yell, 'Ah, shut up!'" Janice later apologized for what she said. Heidi told her castmates that she'd always longed to be a Christian missionary, and told them she'd not always been as wealthy as she is today. "There were times in my life I couldn't afford Ramen [noodles] … I couldn't afford tampons," she said. Things took a turn, however, when Heidi began throwing up. Cast mate Patti Blagojevich (the wife of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich) said of Heidi's illness, "She was drinking one bottle of water when we're supposed to be drinking four to six. They weren't really eating; Spencer said they were doing a spiritual fast." Heidi was taken to the hospital, Spencer by her side, where a battery of tests appeared to rule out many ailments, and a doctor came to the conclusion that it must be "a gastric ulcer or gastritis." It was announced that they were leaving the show. A promo for upcoming episodes featured Heidi's sister, Holly Montag, taking her sister and brother-in-law's place in the game. Also on Monday night's show, Francis Callier, one half of comedy team "Frangela," decided she couldn't hack it in the Costa Rican jungle without her partner Angela V. Shelton, and quit the show. Also, former "American Idol" contestant Sanjaya Malakar won the food trial involving being in a flash flood chamber with little crocodiles, snakes, frogs and other creepy crawlies, and actor Lou Diamond Phillips was named the leader of the tribe for the second week.[Read full story on The Insider]
