Contributing humorist to The Weekly Standard publication. Graduate of Amherst College, Amherst, Massachusetts. Was one of the actors originally in the running for the character of George Costanza on Seinfeld. Longtime best friend of Jerry Seinfeld. Has played a college dean three times: The Nutty Professor, The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes (1995), and Necessary Roughness. Along with Jason Alexander, was up for the part for George Costanza on Seinfeld; he would later be a guest star as the evil doorman on the series. Mother is talent agent Iris Burton
