Good friends with actress Jasmin Tabatabai and director Katja von Garnier since the shooting of Bandits (1997).
Has a sister, Susanne, and a brother.
Studied at the School of Theater and Music in Hanover from 1984 to 1986 and the Otto Falckenberg Drama School in Munich from 1986 to 1987.
Mother of Paula Riemann.
