Youngest person ever nominated for an Oscar (Supporting Actor, Kramer vs. Kramer (1979).
"Discovered" by his neighbor, who happened to be a casting director and won the role of the young boy in Kramer vs. Kramer (1979) with no prior acting experience.
Retired from films to attend Skidmore College, then returned in the mid-90s upon his graduation.
At the end of auditions for Kramer vs Kramer, he was the last of two little boys. They had a very hard time deciding who to choose and decided to go with Henry because he looked more like Meryl Streep than the other little actor.
Was number 80 on vh1's 100 Greatest Kid Stars
