Jon Bon Jovi is reportedly threating a lawsuit against Mijovi drink makers because he says the name is too similar to his own name.  Apparently Marcos Carrington launched the coffee drink in 2004 and says he was inspired to name the drink Mijovi after his girlfriend Jovita.  The slogans being used to market the drink were: "itmijovi" and "itsmilife" which Bon Jovi is demanding Carrington to change, including the product label.  Bon Jovi's lawyer, Peter Laird wrote to Carrington:

"As you should be aware, one of Bon Jovi's most popular songs is entitled It's My Life. We hereby demand that you immediately cease and desist all further use of the name Mijovi and It's My Life."

Although carrington agreed to stop using the slogan, "itsmilife" for marketing, he claims:

"It is just unfair. (itsmilife) means it's my jovial life.  It is unfair because Mijovi has nothing to do with Bon Jovi."

Even though I know the slogan is similar to one of Bonjovi's songs, I think the whole thing is ridiculous.  Who really cares that the name is similar...it's still not the same to me.  Maybe not use the slogans for marketing, but forcing them to change the name of the product is a little to much in my opinion.  What do you think?
