John Travolta, who has kept a low profile during the promotion of his new movie 'The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3' is now speaking out to his fans via his official Web site, thanking the movie's director and actors.   "Tony, Denzel, Luis, John, James and Sony Pictures stepped up without hesitation to help promote this wonderful film, and their unselfish efforts have allowed my family the additional time to reconcile our loss."

The two people accused of attempting to extort millions of dollars from JOHN TRAVOLTA in the wake of his son’s death have pleaded not guilty in court.Pleasant Bridgewater and ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne were alleged to have been involved in a $25 million (£17.2 million) plot to bribe Travolta and his grieving wife Kelly Preston
Two Bahamian men pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges related to an alleged plot to extort millions from actor John Travolta following his son's death earlier this year. Pleasant Bridgewater, a former senator, and Tarino Lightbourne, an ambulance driver, pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit extortion and aiding to attempted exortion, according to the Associated Press. They stand accused of asking Travolta for $25 million in order to keep a document secret, the news agency reports. The document was allegedly somehow connected with John's son with wife Kelly Preston, Jett, who passed away at age 16 on January 2. The men are free on bail, and their trial is set to begin on September 21, the AP reports.

John Travolta has launched a charity in memory of his dead son. The Hollywood actor and his wife Kelly Preston - whose 16-year-old son Jett died from a seizure in January - have created the Jett Travolta Foundation to help children with medical and emotional needs.

The 55-year-old star's official website says: "The Foundation shall endeavor to use its resources specifically to assist and provide relief to children with vision, hearing, mobility, communication, behavior learning impairments or other special medical, environmental, health or educational needs."
