A slimmed down John Goodman chatted with David Letterman about his weight loss journey, saying "it's kind of like letting the gas out of the balloon." The "Treme" actor revealed on CBS' "Late Show" that at one point he was pushing 400 pounds. "I'd get off of [filming] 'Roseanne' every spring. I'd lose 60 pounds every spring. Then I got too fond of the barley corn and start missing it too much -- I'd gain it back and then some, every year." Goodman says he still has a ways to go, but tells Letterman of his weight loss transformation, "It's like night and day. ... I'm getting a lot of exercise, feeling great -- it's going to be an ongoing process for the rest of my life." Letterman ed on the actor's new look, saying "You look wonderful!"

John Goodman has completed a secret stint in rehab. The 'Monsters, Inc.' star voluntarily spent time in Malibu's Promises Treatment Center - which has also treated stars including Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears - in order to "remain sober for his family."

Goodman said in a statement: "For my family and myself, I voluntarily took the necessary steps to remain sober for the rest of my life."
E! Online - There was no head shaving, car chases or other paparazzi-documented misdeeds. Instead, John Goodman decided to get sober on his terms-away from prying eyes.
AP - John Goodman has checked out of rehab after being treated for an undisclosed reason. It was unclear how long the actor was treated, or when he was released.
