Reuters - Autopsy results show that Jeff Conaway, the star of "Taxi" and "Grease" who struggled with addiction before his death in May, died from multiple causes including a major internal infection.
The Los Angeles County Coroner has declared Grease star Jeff Conaway's death an accident after a four month investigation into the tragedy. The actor died a day after he was taken off life support...

Jeff Conaway died from multiple causes, from Aortic valve problems to pneumonia ... this according to the L.A. County Coroner.  And, the Coroner says, his death at 60 was an accident.

Among the causes

-- Septic Emboli ... an infected arterial blockage

-- Aortic Valve Endocarditis ... heart valve infection 

-- Coronary Artery Disease

-- Pneumonia

-- Encephalopathy ... brain disorder resulting from drug overdoses

The actor - who was famed for his role of Kenickie in the 1978 musical film - died last month at the age of 60 after a reported drug overdose and his friends and family attended a service at the Our Lady Of Grace Church in Encino, California, to remember him.

Volo Auto Museum in Illinois tells TMZ they had been trying to get their hands on one of the famous cars from "Grease" for years (they used a few in the movie) and just this week completed a deal to get one. 

The museum was able to find one of the cars used in the movie at a restoration shop in California. The owner was located in New York and passed away while it was still being worked on. The shop owner took hold of the title through the courts and Volo agreed to buy it off them -- and pay for them to finish restoring it. The total cost figures to be in the low six figures.

Conaway's history with the fabled car is a dark one. He said during an episode of "Celebrity Rehab" that he was dropped during the filming of the Greased Lightning scene ... and it was that back injury that started his addiction to painkillers.

Jeff Conaway's funeral may not be taking place for the next "few months".

The body of the 'Grease' star - who died last week at the age of 60 after falling into a coma earlier in the month following a reported drug overdose - has been released from the Los Angeles County Coroner, but his sisters Michelle and Carla are said to be "overwhelmed" at the prospect of laying their brother to rest.

Conaway's older sister, Carla Shreve, tells TMZ ... Travolta sent both flowers and food to the family this weekend. She says the family plans to have Conaway cremated, once the coroner's inquest is complete. The ashes will be kept with the family.

Shreve says they are working on plans for a memorial, but nothing has been finalized. 

Conaway passed away last week at the age of 60.

The actor - who was famed for his role of Kenickie in the 1978 film, which also starred John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John - passed away at a Los Angeles hospital today (27.05.11) as doctors failed to revive him after he fell into a coma two weeks ago following a reported drug overdose.
