In 1972 he graduated from New Trier High School in Winnetka, Ilinois. Attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1972-1976 Had a bit role in Cocktail where he can be sitting at the Jamaican bar. He received no credit. Has two sons, James Gabriel Eckhouse (Gabe) and John Alexander Eckhouse (Zander). Jim Walsh, Eckhouse's character on Beverly Hills, 90210, was ranked #41 in TV Guide's list of the "50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time" [20 June 2004 issue]. Bears a resemblance to Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski. Amazingly, they are both originally from Chicago and their birthdays are only one day apart. However, Coach K is 8 years older.
