"Lonesome Dove: The Series" was created with Woolvett in mind to play Newt Call until another studio involved him in a contract dispute and the role went to fellow Canadian, Scott Bairstow.
He's three years older than look-alike brother Gordon Michael Woolvett, also an actor.
