Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 (as a member of the Jackson 5).
His original first name Sigmund was his father's idea. His mother didn't like it and was glad that he eventually got the nickname Jackie.
Had a relationship with Paula Abdul, whom he introduced to his sister Janet Jackson. Paula became her choreographer.
