A New York judge has ruled rapper JA RULE cannot post bail for his two co-defendants in a gun possession case.In a hearing on Wednesday (27Feb08), State Supreme Justice Micki Scherer told the court she’s "troubled" that Ja Rule, real name Jeffrey Atkins, paid thousands of dollars in bail for Dennis Cherry and Mohamed Gamal.Scherer
Early success cost rapper Ja Rule his freedom - because his first big pay check allowed him to buy more drugs. The I'm Real hitmaker was a teenage dealer when he and his Cash Money Click bandmates scored a record deal with TVT Records - and the trio blew all its signing fee on street drugs.


Rapper Ja Rule has set up his own internet radio station from his home in New York. The hitmaker, real name Jeffrey Atkins, fronts the ambitious new venture and hosts a weekly hip-hop show every Friday.


Rap star Ja Rule blames his family's Jehovah's Witness roots for ruining his childhood. The hitmaker reveals he was never allowed to celebrate birthdays or Christmases growing up - and even playing with other children was a problem for his strict grandparents, who helped raise him.
