Previously married to a former model Diane by whom he had a son Titus and a step-daughter Emma and is currently married to Kathryn Holcomb, who was formerly married to the actor Bruce Boxleitner. Son of Aileen Raymond, who was the first wife of veteran actor Sir John Mills. Was a serious contender for the role of James Bond on several occasions due to his appearances as The Saint. The closest he got, however, was playing a Bond-like character in a series of TV commercials. Novelist on the side: "Loose Chippings" and "The Polkerton Giant" Replaced Roger Moore as Simon Templar when "The Saint" returned to series TV in the late 70s. He was considered for Group Captain Gilmore (played by Simon Williams) in Doctor Who Remembrance Of The Daleks. He won the TV Times "Most Compulsive Character" award in 1978/1979. He worked backstage at the Royal Court Theatre in Sloane Square, London, before training at RADA. Became an Associate Member of RADA. Graduated from RADA.
