McNeice's three children - Travers, Angus, and Maisie - live in the Bush, in Botswana, Africa. They have written a book called "The Lion Children" (to be published by Orion Books in September 2001). The book is about their life in the Bush with their mother and step father, who are lion researchers.
Has been in one episode each of both British historical fiction military characters Richard Sharpe and Horatio Hornblower.
