Heath Ledger, 28, died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs that included painkillers, sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication, the New York City medical examiner said today.
"Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine,'' medical examiner's spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said in a statement.
The drugs are the generic names for the OxyContin painkiller, the anti-anxiety drug Valium, Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug, and the sleep aids Restoril and Unisom.

Thanks for the heads up Anon..... I took this info from CTV and CNN...... after reading your I looked up Hydrocodone and you are correct..... it's a fancy name for Vicodin.

I for one am absolutly soooo sad Heath has moved on from this world. He was the greatest modest actor. He was so down to earth. In all his interviews he was so REAL. He didn't buy into the whole celebrity thing. He was so loving and sweet. he did not like the invasion of the public eye. But someone with talent like his..cannot go unnoticed. I love him.. I wish and pray for his beautiful soul to be at peace. I can only imagine what his loved ones feel...as I never had the great luxury of meeting this wonderous man, and my heart aches...cannot imagine what they feel....I am blessed to have lived in Heath's generation. His words I will keep with me ALWAYS.. And I will keep my eye on Little Heath...Matilda Rose.. as she grows up. God bless Matilda and Michele... HEATH WILL BE REMEBERED ALWAYS.
