Looking for a spiffy new place? Corcoran has got just the thing! A three-bedroom, two-bath, 4,400-square-foot space with a gourmet kitchen, office, and balcony overlooking the heart of Soho. Amenities include fifteen-foot tin ceilings, cast-iron columns, exposed-brick walls, a wood-burning fireplace, and one unique feature that will really impress your friends and co-workers: It's the very apartment in which Heath Ledger died.
Yes, a scant two weeks after Ledger overdosed in his apartment at 421 Broome Street, his place is apparently already on the market. This is New York, after all, and as one broker tells the Post, "You don't wait around in a hot rental market like this." The cocktail-party anecdote that living in the deceased actor's pad will provide is going to cost you, though: According to the Post, the place is going for $25,000 a month now, $3,000 up from what Ledger started renting it for back in September. But that's nothing compared with what they're going to start asking for it once someone says it's haunted.

$25,000 a month!!!!????? Thats an outrage!!!! $300,000 a year holy s**t! I can buy a mansion on whitefish, Montana lake for that much. I wouldnt rent it if I wanted to, its probly real spooky now. I dont want to be sleeping, and I see Heath Ledger walk out of the kitchen with a plate of waffles, and sit down and watch Brokeback Mountain. OOOOH this gives me the willies. God Bless All!!

ONTARIO CANADA
Heath Ledger lived there in his last days with a broken heart missing his daughter and his ex-fiancee. If I had the money to reside where this excellent and adoring actor once lived, and passed on....I would do it in a heartbeat. Creepy it may seem to some, but this man was a great actor and had such a promising future. The connection many feel watching and listening to the things he has done may feel an honor to me to have that luxury, the closest to being a non-famous individual as you would want to be closer to an extordinairy person Heath was. God bless his family, Michelle, and his daughter.
As I understand it, the apartment belongs to Mary-Kate Olsen, and if she can be out partying 2 DAYS after Heath Ledger's death, supposedly her friend, it's not surprising she's wants to rent the place ASAP..... real estate is money you know and she's "just" a billionaire after all! The sick little darlin' !
It may seem insensitive to some for Heath Ledger's apt. to be rented out only 2 weeks after his death but since there was no sentimental attachment involved for the Corcoran Co. (the real owners of the building - not Mary Kate Olsen) I say "why not"? It is afterall a New York property not an apt. in a small town with a different kind of business mentality. Heath Ledger was only a tenant there anyway for 4 mos. so the cost came to a mere $93,000. I personally would not want to live there now more so because of the gawkers than the ghosts but everyone has their own reasons for doing things.
