Born in Chicago, Illinois on November 16, 1964, to Lillian and Harry Lennix, Harry Joseph Lennix, was not always certain he wanted to be an actor. Always an A student, Harry decided to act in his high schools play while he waited for the Baseball season to begin. From this, bloomed a veritable bevy of movies roles, and guest-starring roles in many popular television shows such as, ER, Diagnosis Murder, Century City, and most recently, House. Harry attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois where he gained the recognition, "Who's Who Among American College Students." Lennix majored in Acting and Direction at Northwestern and upon Graduation stayed teaching in Chicago for a bit, before moving to New York, and from there, Los Angeles, California.

Harry is the youngest of two brothers and one sister, and often returns to Chicago to visit his remaining family there. He currently resides in Los Angeles and has recently finished work on several movies. He will be participating in the play "Permanent Collection," in Los Angeles, in which he acted in Chicago, March of 2005.


Taught in the Chicago public schools system. He went to school with David Schwimmer of "Friends". He was awarded the 1988 Joseph Jefferson Award for Actor in a Principal Role in a Musical or Revue for "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" at the Pegasus Players Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. He was awarded the 1997 Joseph Jefferson Award for Actor in a Principal Role in a Play for "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. Son of the late Harry Joseph Lennix II and Lillian C. Lennix of Chicago, Illinois.
