Washington, D.C.-born George Wyner has been a steadily working character actor in both film and television since the early 1970s, specializing in the portrayal of ineffectual bureaucratic weasels. He has also occasionally been cast as more noble figures, including ultra-reliable gumshoe Saul Panzer in Nero Wolfe. A ubiquitous presence in film comedies, and even more so in episodic TV (over 100 guest appearances and several regular roles in various TV comedies and dramas), Wyner is always instantly recognizable thanks to his balding pate, his prominent facial features, and his often-worn aviator-frame glasses.


First major title role was in The Odd Couple (1968) in 1971.
