Was one of the final choices for the role of "Captain Sisko" on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (1993) and the role of "Captain Janeway" on "Star Trek: Voyager" (1995).
Initially attended the University of California as a pre-med major, but soon switched his major to acting because he was having trouble maintaining a 4.0 grade point average.
