Briefly owned a video game arcade in Fisherman's Village near Santa Monica, California. Had his first kidney transplant in 1973. His second in 1984. He sued his parents, Willie and Sue Coleman, over misappropriation of his trust fund. At the peak of his career, he made $70K per episode, a total of around $18 million in earnings! Coleman's parents set up a trust fund for his money, yet structured the arrangement to name themselves as paid employees of Coleman's production company. When the court finally dissolved the trust, the parents' share was worth $770,000, while Coleman himself had only $220,000. Coleman then successfully sued his parents and managers for $3.8 million. Appeared on "Geraldo" (1987) in early 1993 and announced he had tried to commit suicide by taking sleeping pills twice. Finished eighth among the replacement candidates in the election to recall California Governor Gray Davis. He received more votes than fellow celebrity candidates Mary Carey, Gallagher, and Angelyne. 2005: Ranked #10 in E's cutest child stars all grown-up. Has been portrayed by Dave Chappelle. Hospitalized in a Los Angeles hospital after suffering a seizure on the set of "The Insider" (2004) on February 26, 2010. The brain hemorrhage that eventually led to his death, was a result of a fall at his home in Utah (on May 26th) that put him into a coma. His ex-wife Shannon Price, who was with him at his home at the time of the fall, made the 911 call. It was also Price who eventually made the decision to take Coleman off life support. He was charged with punching an autograph-seeker in California.
