Son of Broadway/Movie actor Dick Anthony Williams. Gary landed his first paid acting job as part of The Georgia Shakespeare Company. His first television role was in the series "In The Heat of the Night." Born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in nearby Fayetteville, Georgia. Gary realized his love for acting when a computer error in high school accidentally signed him up for a drama class and he was too lazy to get out of it. In Atlanta, Gary performed with the improv comedy group Laughing Matters, the longest-running improv company in town. Mother is the late actress Gloria Edwards who died of cancer in 1988.
