During his period as a bodybuilder, he competed in the Mr. Metropolis and Mr. Queens competitions. At his peak, he could squat 510 pounds. Middle child of seven. Still lives in Flushing, New York, with his mother and older sister. Played semi-professional football as a running back for the Long Island Tomahawks. After college, his jobs include working as strip-club bouncer, security guard and construction worker. Studied criminal law investigation at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. Nearly gave up acting after struggling for work, but his sister objected to him quitting. Is of Puerto Rican descent.
