Frankie Fitzgerald lives in south London with his parents, Wendy, a housewife and Barry - who is a director of a London distribution company. He attended the Italia Conti Performing arts school from age ten till fourteen, when he went to the Sylvia Young Theatre School. In the theatre he appeared in "My Fair Lady", "The lion, the witch and the wardrobe" and in the West End production "Blood Brothers".

He got his big break as Ashley Cotton in _"Eastenders" (1985)_ in 2000, but was axed from the show (character died in bike accident) in 2001.


He had a short marriage to actress Carly Hillman who had played Nicki Di Marco in EastEnders from 1998-2000 a few months before he joined and also appeared in Harry and Cosh but not in any scenes together with her.
