Eddie Murphy has finally admitted he’s the father of Melanie Brown’s baby, Angel. Earlier this week, Melanie announced her plans to take Eddie to court to force the actor to admit he fathered the three month old baby girl and to pay child support for her upkeep, since he had not paid any to date. However, Eddie has now released a statement through his spokesperson saying he “acknowledges paternity of the child Angel, and has paid child support to Ms. Brown as well as covering the expenses of her pregnancy.” But he disputes the Spice Girl’s claim that the baby was planned: “Mr Murphy and Ms Brown dated very briefly and never made any plans of ANY sort.” After the statement, Melanie’s attorney Gloria Allred said that Eddie had still not “indicated in his statement or to us that he plans to visit the baby.” Melanie Brown parties in her bikini at Nikki Beach Club
