Father of actor Buck Taylor, with whom he appeared in Conagher. Grandfather of Adam C. Taylor. Grandfather-in-law of actress/producer Anne Lockhart. Once explained that, as a boy, he had been called "W" as a nickname for his first name Walter. That was later shortened to just "Dub." Was featured on a number of Hubba Bubba bubble gum commercials. His family moved to Augusta, Georgia when he was five.
