Son of Sir Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson Father of Jemma Redgrave, Luke Redgrave, Arden Redgrave and Harvey Redgrave. Brother of Lynn Redgrave and Vanessa Redgrave Uncle of Joely Richardson, Natasha Richardson and Carlo Gabriel Nero. Grandson of Roy Redgrave and Margaret Scudamore. Won the Laurence Olivier Award (1998) and a Tony Nomination for his role as Boss Whalen in Tennessee Williams' "Not About Nightingales". Uncle of 'Carlo Gabriel Nero . Was nominated for Broadway's 1999 Tony Award as Best Actor (Play) for Tennessee Williams' "Not About Nightingales." Won the Laurence Olivier Award (1998) for his role as Boss Whalen in Tennessee Williams' "Not About Nightingales". Supported a motion to impeach British Prime Minister Tony Blair after the war "Operation Iraqi Freedom". Suffered a severe heart attack and is in a "critical but stable" condition in hospital.
