"American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert finally addresses the intense speculation about his sexuality and reveals why he waited until now to publicly announce it. "I don't think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I'm gay," Adam tells the new issue of Rolling Stone, hitting newsstands this Friday. "Right after the finale, I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, 'I'm going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler,'" he says. Adam said he didn't want a repeat of the situation that happened with another "Idol" runner-up, Clay Aiken, who waited years before publicly acknowledging his homosexuality. "I didn't want the Clay Aiken thing and the celebrity-magazine bull----. I need to be able to explain myself in context," 27-year-old Adam tells the magazine. "I'm proud of my sexuality," he says. "I embrace it. It's just another part of me." The singer, who also just announced a new record deal, says he felt that coming out as gay would have affected the tremendous reaction he was getting on "American Idol." "I was worried that [coming out] would be so sensationalized that it would overshadow what I was there to do, which was sing. I'm an entertainer, and who I am and what I do in my personal life is a separate thing. It shouldn't matter," he says.

The Broadway star took to his members-only blog last night to address his earlier statements about the vocal stylings of Lambert. Explained Aiken, "I obviously meant it as a colorful statement to imply that I did not enjoy what I heard. Any performer hopes that their music will appeal to all people, but no singer realistically expects it to."

AP - Music producer David Foster sees nothing strange about his sister Jaymes having a baby with Clay Aiken. David Foster told AP Radio "She's very close with Clay, they're best friends. It made perfect sense to me that he'd want to have a child with his best friend."
David Foster, music producer and stepfather to Brody Jenner, is speaking out on his sister Jaymes' baby with Clay Aiken. For starters, their relationship works because "she's very close with Clay, they're best friends," he tells the AP. "It made perfect sense to me that he'd want to have a child with his best friend." He says Clay is a "spectacular father" and calls his sister "a natural mother." Jaymes, also a music producer, "always wanted a child," he added. "So it kind of worked out." Although he's not certain how they will co-parent the baby boy, "they're working it out," he says. "I don't know quite how. It's a bicoastal thing."

Supermodel Tyra Banks was presented the prestigious Excellence in Media Award from The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) by singer Clay Aiken. In addition to the special award, Banks' daily talk show as well as "America's Next Top Model" have been nominated for GLAAD Awards. The ceremony Saturday night in New York was the first of three planned by the organization, which honors media companies and individuals for fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities. In addition to the special award, Banks' daily talk show and "America's Next Top Model" have both been nominated for GLAAD Awards. Other awards handed out on Saturday included Outstanding Daily Drama, given to CBS' "As the World Turns," Outstanding Music Artist, presented to artist k.d. lang, for her album Watershed, and Outstanding Magazine Overall Coverage, awarded to Newsweek magazine. More media awards will be announced during an awards ceremony in Los Angeles on April 18. The films 'Milk' and 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' have both been nominated for outstanding wide-release film. Among TV nominees are "Brothers & Sisters," "The L Word," "South of Nowhere," "Torchwood" and "True Blood" for Outstanding Drama Series. "Desperate Housewives," "Greek," "Reaper," "Skins" and "Ugly Betty" are nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series.
