Clark Gable's Grandson -- 10 Days in Jail for Lasering Police Chopper
Reuters - Clark James Gable, the grandson of "Gone With the Wind" star Clark Gable, has pleaded guilty to pointing a laser at a Los Angeles Police Department helicopter, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office announced Thursday.
Reuters - Clark Gable's grandson pleaded not guilty on Friday to three counts of pointing a laser light at a police helicopter in July, momentarily blinding two officers.

Clark Gable’s grandson Clark Gable III has been charged with three felony counts of pointing a laser at an aircraft, TMZ has learned -- after allegedly flashing a laser pointer at an LAPD chopper.

According to law enforcement, Gable was a passenger in a small red car driving in L.A. last month when he pointed a green laser at an LAPD helicopter -- flying above an event in Hollywood.

We're told the light obstructed the vision of two officers in the helicopter -- who were able to pinpoint the beam coming from the car Clark was riding in.

We're told Clark flashed the laser a total of three times at the chopper before cops pulled his car over -- and arrested him and the driver.

The driver has not been charged. If convicted on all counts, Clark faces three years in state prison.

Clark Gable III was bailed out of jail yesterday by sisters Lisa and Terresa of the Lipstick bail bonds company ... after he was arrested for for allegedly pointing a laser at an LAPD helicopter.

Gable posted the $250,000 and told KCBS afterward, "People make mistakes."

Clark Gable III is in custody right now ... after being arrested last night for allegedly pointing a laser at an LAPD helicopter ... TMZ has learned.

We're told Gable -- an aspiring actor -- was driving around in Hollywood with friends last night, driving in the direction of the Hollywood sign.  Gable's family tells TMZ ... he was trying to point the laser at the famous sign, but apparently his aim ain't so good.

A short time later, cops swarmed and accused Gable of pointing the device at the chopper -- a huge no-no. 

Gable has had his share of problems.  In 2009, he was stabbed in the rib cage by a fellow party-goer.

Gable was booked on a felony.  His bail is set at $60,000.  The family says he's looking for a good lawyer.
