In 1962, he was signed to star in a action series produced by Blake Edwards called "House of Seven", but the series never got beyond the concept stage.

Everytime Charles Bickford was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, one of his co-stars won the Oscar for Best Actress (Jennifer Jones for "The Song of Bernadette" (1943), Loretta Young for "The Farmer's Daughter" (1947), and Jane Wyman for "Johnny Belinda" (1948).
