Chad Everett Biography
A both leading and supporting actor on screen and television, you name a role - lawyer, airline pilot, rig forman, doctor, gunslinger, real-life person, good guy or bad guy, Chad Everett has probably played it. Chad Everett was born Raymond Lee Cramton on June 11, 1936 in South Bend, Indiania. In high school he did stage plays and wanted to become an actor.

After he graduated from Wayne University, Chad came to Hollywood and signed a contract with Warner Brothers. He first became known in a short television series playing a deputy in The Dakotas, but starred in a number of supporting roles such as Get Yourself a College Girl, Made in Paris, played the title lead role in _Johnny Tiger (1966)_ and _Return of the Gunfighter (1967) (TV)_ .

He was probably best known for being in the seven year run as Dr. Joe Gannon in the television series Medical Center which earned him two Golden Globe Awards and Emmy Nominations. After "Medical Center" was cancelled, Chad starred in the mini series Centennial and was in the lead title role in _"Hagen (1980)_ . In the early eighties, Chad was in television films which included The Intruder Within and did number of guest appearances on "The Love Boat" and "Murder She Wrote".

Chad's recent roles have included the remake of Psycho and _Mulholland Drive (2001)_ . Today he is still seen on television in Manhattan, AZ. He recently just completed a new film with Gwyneth Paltrow, _View from the Top, A(2003)_ which is soon to be released. Chad is married to his wife Shelby Grant and they have three daughters.


Trivia
A recovered alcoholic, he still attends AA meetings.
Graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn, Michigan.
Changed his name to Chad Everett because, he said, he got tired of explaining his real name, "Raymon-no-D, Cramton-no-P".
Was a client from the early to mid-1960s of noted talent agent Henry Willson, noted for his penchant for making stars--and changing names--of young, good-looking male actors, such as Rock Hudson, Tab Hunter and Troy Donahue. Willson was the one who re-named Everett and signed him to Warner Bros.
