His older brother Stevie Ray looked after him when they were kids, and helped him break into the wrestling business when he was in high school.

Since joining the WWF/WCW/ECW Alliance Booker T. has captured the WCW Tag Titles for an 11th time with partner Test. Test & Booker. T. also have a reign as WWF Tag Team Champs before losing the belts to the Hardy Boyz on WWF Smackdown!. The Hardy Boyz also defeated Booker T. & Test for the WCW Titles 1 month earlier.

Currently the #1 Contendor for Triple H's World Heavyweight Championship and will fight for the title in the RAW Main Event at WrestleMania XIX on March 30th.

When he and his brother went over to WCW to become the successful tag team of Harlem Heat, they were managed by former wrestler Rob Parker. The original plan was to call them the "Ghetto Blasters" and have them come to the ring in chains like slaves, but was nixed due to racial sensitivity.

Despite not even competing on 13 January 2005 edition of WWE Smackdown, he became the new U.S. Champion when his replacement Randy Orton defeated Chris Benoit.

While in Texas, Booker T feuded with Tiger Conway Jr.
