Served in the U.S. Marine Corps 1959-1965, then went to college at UCLA 1970-1974. Between leaving the Marines and going to college, he worked for the Northwestern Mutual Life Ins. Co.

Three daughters: Pia, Maja and Maria.

Pursued a Ph.D. in Meta-Physics 1967-1975. Attended UCLA 1970-1974.
