Bo Hopkins Biography
Sandy haired, US actor born William Hopkins in Greenville, South Carolina who was raised by his mother and grandmother, after his father passed on when Bo was only nine years old. Seeking new challenges, Bo then joined the US Army at the age of sixteen. After leaving the armed forces and gaining experience in summer stock productions and guest spots in several TV episodes, the energetic Bo broke into feature films as the ill-fated "Crazy Lee" in the Sam Peckinpah landmark western The Wild Bunch, and was subsequently hired by Peckinpah as another none too bright bank robber in The Getaway and as a hired killer buddying up with CIA agent James Caan in _ Killer Elite, The (1975)_ . Hopkins was very busy during the 1980/90s, guest-starring in many TV shows including "The Rockford Files", "Charlies Angels", "The A-Team", "Hotel", "Matt Houston" plus he was a regular on the super soap opera "Dynasty". In addition, he's starred in dozens of feature films including Midnight Express, _American Grafitti (1973)_ , The Bounty Hunter, U Turn (1997)_ and ShadeWith his "good old boy" looks and southern drawl, Hopkins is generally at his best playing either lawmen (he's played a Sheriff on at least a dozen occasions!) or an oily villain. It would be fair to say that Bo Hopkins has developed a cult following amongst many film fans. He makes his home in Los Angeles with his wife Sian and son, Matthew and is a keen fisherman, fan of the Anaheim Angels baseball team, plus Bo enjoys raising Koi fish.
