Amanda Brumfield - the 32-year-old offspring of the actor and his first wife Melissa Parish - was found guilty of aggravated manslaughter earlier this year and today (06.10.11) was sentenced for the offence.
A neighbor of Billy Bob Thornton's daughter, who has been found guilty of manslaughter, has described her as a "quiet and normal person".

Amanda Brumfield, who is estranged from the actor, was convicted of the aggravated manslaughter of her best friend's 12-month-old daughter, in Orlando last Friday (27.05.11) but Charles Moorefield - who lived near Amanda - revealed he was shocked by the ruling.

32-year-old Amanda Brumfield was convicted of aggravated manslaughter stemming from the death of her best friend's daughter ... who she was babysitting in October 2008.

Brumfield was acquitted on charges of first degree murder and child-abuse.

Brumfield -- Thornton’s child from his first marriage to Melissa Lee Gatlin -- has claimed the little girl hit her head while trying to climb out of a playpen and died from her injuries.

But prosecutors didn't buy it -- saying the child's fractured skull and brain swelling were too severe to have been caused by a minor fall.

She's set to be sentenced in July.
