Bas Rutten is one of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) most respected and feared fighters of All time. He is a devastating stand up striker and has made a name of himself as the "King of Pancrase" and UFC heavyweight champion. He was born in Eindhoven, Holland and as a child had asthma and a skin condition which made him an easy target for local bullies. He had a life altering experiance in France 1976 when he and his brother snuck into a movie screening of Bruce Lee's "Enter the Dragon". He then decided to devote himself to the martial arts and very quickly learned the advantages to the physical discipline. He's broken many noses, in and out of the compitition ring. He also worked as a bouncer for a few years before his Pancrase career thrust him into the limelight. He also has three girls Rachele, Sabine and Bianca.


Former Undefeated UFC Heavyweight Champion. He won the belt by defeating Kevin Randleman by decision at UFC 20. Won 14 straight Muay-Thai boxing matches by knockout before suffering his first defeat. Had a 28-4-1 mixed martial arts record and retired without losing for the last four years of his career. He had intended to vacate the UFC Heavyweight championship to compete in the under 200 lbs class, but injuries kept him from competing again after his Heavyweight championship win over Kevin Randleman at UFC 20. Considered one of the top 5 greatest fighters in mixed-martial art's history. Former 3 time Undefeated King of Pancrase Worked as a ringside commentator for PRIDE Fighting Championships in Japan. He is now working for the International Fight League (IFL). Began his mixed martial art's career on September 21, 1993 by knocking out Ryushi Yanagisawa in Japan.
